Well, finally back from the holidays! Is it just me, or do they get more exhausting every year?? I did manage to enjoy myself, but i was actually getting less sleep than in university...
We had all 35 family members over for Christmas dinner at our house this year. We decided to go Persian for the meal. Of course, no one told me this would require me to russel up at least 4 BBQ's from around the neighbourhood! I am sure everyone got a good laugh out of me pulling BBQs around on a toboggan through 2-3 feet of snow!! We also had to cube over 20lbs of meat for shishkibobs...However, this was all worthwhile b/c dinner was amazing (the only problem was it was so cramped once you were sitting you could not get back up!)
New Year's there was rain, so my friends and I couldn't go skiing (a tradition for us), but we ended up snow/slush tubing. Worked out quite well. THen we went home and had a good party.
Hope you all also got time to relax and enjoy time with family and friends. The intangibles are definitely the most important part of the holidays.
I will leave you with my new year's resolution list:
----------------------------
think before speaking
give before taking
work before playing
and finally...moderation in everything, including moderation
