The wonders of Deet!

Deet is officially the best thing ever invented! Sure it is dreadfully poisonous and can cause cancer but its the only thing that really works against those pesky misquitoes! And there is no better product to utilize this DEET than Muskol (c) (the site even has a "mosquito radar" that lets you check out the level of mosquitoes in your area!!

This wonderful revelation was really driven home this past weekend when I went camping on the Bruce peninsula. 3 days of hiking, biking, eating and sleeping... All the while enjoying the great outdoors! Unfortunately, the weather was damp and humid for most of the time, and this is VERY conducive to mosquitoes.

There were literally thousands of mosquitoes hovering around us, but not landing, they were simply waiting for the muskol to wear off!! It was incredible how effective the DEET was, and how quickly we noticed when it wore off... I have finally been able to fully appreciate the old literary adage " the air was thick with bugs..."

Well, this post is being done from work. That's right, I am doing tech support for the two months I am in the country this summer. I have no internet at home, so this is the only way I can get online. Pathetic I know...

*hangs head in shame*

That being said, there are some benefits to the situation!

• First off, I get to go spend money on a neat USB wireless antenna for my computer at home to be able to connect to our wireless network. Gizmo's and Gadgets havea similar affect on me like a kid openeing his frist present on christmas, or when your grandfather used to give you some money and let you loose in a candy store.


• Secondly, having no internet at home has forced me to get this well-paying intellectually challenging job. I am doing tech support, hardware updates, software roll-outs, intranet design and implementation...all of which I am sure make me irresistable to members of the opposite sex!


• Finally this will help to wean me from my inernet addiciton by making me unable to connect to the digital world. I can now languish in a world disconnected from the fast paced flow of information and ideas. I can now take some time away from everything that makes me tick...*sob* who am i kidding??!?!?
